NOTE
The Arhuaca mochilas (meaning "bag" in Spanish) are handmade by the Arhuaco people, an indigenous tribe from the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Colombia, a region they consider the heart of the world. The Arhuacos are dedicated to preserving the natural balance of the earth and its ecosystems.
We collaborate with a group of indigenous women artisans from this stunning mountain range. These mochilas are intricately handwoven by the women of the community using natural sheep wool. Each bag takes between 20 to 40 days to create, ensuring that every mochila is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.
Through these beautifully crafted bags, you can connect with the ancient traditions and spiritual stories of the Arhuaco people, carrying a piece of their heritage as wearable art.
The Arhuaca mochilas are not only spacious and durable but also designed to withstand all weather conditions. Made entirely from 100% sheep wool, these bags are versatile enough to be worn throughout the year, by people of all ages.
